Lizzie Borden took an ax...
Certain events plague people over the years to the point of obsession. The Lizzie Borden story is one of them. For more than a century, people have pondered whether Lizzie was falsely accused of murder or got away with it. The house where the gruesome attacks took place is a popular B&B. Yes, you can spend the night in the home where one of the most notorious murders in American history occurred. I've always been fascinated by the accounts of the Borden killings and whether Lizzie was a murderous woman or one who was unjustly accused. Like all of my books, I needed to research the facts surrounding the case in order to write about it. Since I write haunted historical fiction, researching the ghostly aspects of the house were just as important as the elements of the trial. Tidbits about the story, including haunted occurrences while writing the book (one actually occurred while I was writing this), will be shared in future newsletters. The Haunting of Borden House, third book in the Dreamist series, is currently undergoing edits and is scheduled for release in fall of 2023.
